Doors for the match open at 7:00AM, mandatory shooters meeting starts at 7:15AM, and we begin shooting at 7:30AM sharp. The match generally lasts until 10:00AM or a little after, at which time the range opens to the general public. Current match fee is $17.

If you choose to walk-up and take a chance on there being a place at the match you will be placed on a waitlist until 8:30am.

If you are new to our match there is a mandatory ‘New Shooters’ briefing at 8:00am in the rifle range. Please have your unloaded pistol in your holster before coming to the briefing.

If you have shot other pistol games or attended a Front Sight or other shooting school pistol course then you are in good shape to learn the IDPA way.

If you have just bought your first gun and want to participate in IDPA you will need a class to help you gain the necessary skills. FFT, LLC offers a beginning class for competition shooting. This will supply you with the necessary skills to enjoy IDPA.

Definitely come out and observe a match. You will find our staff and shooters happy to answer questions or explain our sport. Identify yourself as an observer at the sign-in table so we can give you some attention. It is OK to attend the ‘new Shooter’ briefing as well to get a base perspective of the range rules.

Aug 27 @ 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

4th Sunday Match check-in starts at 08:00 with a safety briefing at 08:30 and shooting begins soon after. Match duration aprox 0900-1400 hrs Bays 1,2,3 & 6 4th Sunday (updated 4-23-12 per BS, BC) WELCOME to West End IDPA. The IDPA match at West End is held on the 4th Sunday of every month. Typical equipment needed is a .38/9mm through .45 pistol or revolver with 3 or more magazines, 4 or more moon clips/speed loaders, eye protection, hearing protection, a holster and a dual magazine holder for the above. Holsters used should be practical for self-defense either concealed carry or duty style, which are suitable for all day continuous wear. A “concealment garment”, like a vest, shirt or jacket to cover your gear will be needed. A hat and sunscreen are also recommended. Fees are $10 for WEGC members, $15 for idpa guest shooters and $20 for non-idpa guest shooters. Junior shooters, starting at about 8 years (with a guardian and the necessary safety skills) and less than 18 years old and Active Duty Military, shoot for FREE. Members of law enforcement will shoot for half price if they use their duty rig and firearm. You don’t need a lot of equipment to have a lot of fun at West End IDPA.

1800 Adventure Club IDPA – Santa Clarrita @ 1800 Adventure Club (private club)
Sep 3 @ 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

This game promotes defensive pistol shooting as a sport, using handguns to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios. Shooters are required to use practical handguns and holsters that are deemed suitable for self-defense use.

One of the unique facets of this sport is that it is geared toward the new or average shooter, yet is fun, challenging and rewarding for the experienced shooter. The founders developed the sport so that practical gear and practical guns may be used competitively. An interested person can spend a minimal amount on equipment and still be competitive.

You will need:

  • Handgun (centerfire revolver or autoloader are okay – NO MAGNUM CALIBERS)
  • Belt Holster or Clip Holster (leg holsters are okay if you have experience with them, but NO shoulder rigs)
  • Magazines or Speedloaders (3 are preferred)
  • Belt or Clip Magazine Pouch (2 are preferred)
  • Approximately 80 to 100 rounds of ammunition
  • Comfortable clothes & sensible shoes
  • Concealment Vest (any comfortable jacket or shirt will do as long as it can be draped over the holstered gun and moved out of the way quickly to draw from the holster)

Participation in this sport requires membership in the The International Defensive Pistol Association, the online membership application starts here. Currently IDPA dues are $40 for one year, or $105 for three years.

Prerequisites of note:

  1. We have been forced to limit the number of shooters at our matches unless and until we have enough qualified SO’s attending our matches. We can’t safely hold our matches with more than 10-12 shooters per 2 qualified SO’s. This means club members and the first to arrive (we appreciate help at 7:00 am to set up) will secure a place until we reach our safe maximum.
  2. Effective immediately, since we have limited qualified SO’s, new shooters will be required to show proof of having completed an IDPA training with either ISI or Prado’s “New Shooter Clinics.”
  3. Starting January 2014, all participants must join the IDPA after they have shot their 1st match. This will not only be in keeping with IDPA HQ, but will help increase the likelihood our shooters have read the rulebook which helps all of us keep the match moving safely and smoothly.

Participants in Club IDPA who are looking for match scores should register an account for the website and look to the IDPA Forum here.
